MAJOR DUTIES:
1.)Quality Inspector (Mechanical, Electrical & instrumentation):
2.)Managing and executing the quality inspection of all incoming materials, spare parts, and consumables received from various suppliers to support plant operations, maintenance, and repair activities.
3.)The role must ensure that all materials comply with applicable specifications, international standards, and Company requirements prior to acceptance and use.
4.)Quality Inspectors may be assigned to Mechanical or Electrical & Instrumentation disciplines based on operational requirements.Perform inspection of mechanical materials, spare parts, and components upon receipt to verify compliance with purchase specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
5.)Review supplier documentation, including inspection certificates, test reports, and material certificates, to ensure completeness and conformityIdentify, document, and report non-conforming materials, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for disposition and corrective actions.
6.)Ensure proper recording of inspection results and maintain accurate documentation in both system and physical records.
7.)Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and end-user departments to facilitate timely inspection, acceptance, and availability of materials.
8.)Conduct inspection of electrical and instrumentation materials, components, and spare parts to ensure compliance with technical specifications and applicable international standards.
9.)Verify documentation, such as, calibration certificates, test reports, and compliance certificates for accuracy and validity.
10.)Report discrepancies, damages, or non-conformities and follow up on resolution in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
11.)Support warehouse operations, including unpacking, inspection, stock verification, and appropriate storage of materials.
12.)Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure timely system updates for traceability and reporting purposes.
13.)Liaise with engineering, maintenance, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient material acceptance and availability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.)Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (including Instrumentation), with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in quality inspection within industries such as aluminium smelting, oil & gas, steel, or metal manufacturing.
2.)Sound knowledge of quality inspection practices in accordance with recognized international standards (e.g., ISO, BS, DIN, BIS), with the ability to inspect mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation materials, spares, and consumables.
3.)Proficient in computer applications with working knowledge of SAP (MM and/or QI modules), and capable of supporting warehouse operations including material inspection, documentation, stock control, and reporting activities.
