Functions/Duties:
The Quality Inspection Technician plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and protecting production integrity within the semiconductor fabrication environment. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Equipment Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Quality Inspection personnel to identify, isolate, and control defects affecting CMOS, SiC, and BOBCAT technologies.
The technician will support both inline and final product inspections, help minimize production excursions, and ensure rapid response to potential product quality risks. This role also supports engineering investigations and customer commitments by processing inspection requests, analyzing wafer defects, and maintaining accurate documentation within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
The successful candidate will qualify as a QI Inspector and assist the team in meeting operational goals for process yield, product quality, and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities:
Inspection and Defect Analysis
- Support Quality Inspection operations using Camtek, wafer sorting systems, Klarity defect analysis, defect review, lot checks, and wafer packing.
- Perform inspections for QI lots, SIRs (Special Inspection Requests), and SWRs (Special Work Requests).
- Develop and maintain inspection recipes for Camtek inspection tools.
Quality Control and Product Protection
- Monitor and disposition lots on hold to support product control during fab events.
- Assist with controlling inline and final product quality to minimize excursions and protect customer shipments.
- Initiate and support SPC Out-of-Control Action Plans, communicating with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, and Quality teams.
Engineering and Customer Support
- Support engineering investigations, development projects, and customer commitments through inspection processing and defect analysis.
- Document inspection activity within MES and maintain accurate records of shift activities using SharePoint.
- Communicate Maverick lot information to customers when required.
Operational Support
- Monitor and process SIRs and SWRs in a timely manner.
- Assist QI Inspectors with inventory control and material processing.
- Perform weekly tool qualifications for QI inspection equipment.
- Maintain inspection procedures and document lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
Workplace Organization
- Perform daily 6S activities, including equipment wipe-downs and work area organization when the QI Inspector is unavailable.

Minimum Requirements:
Two years of college coursework in a technical field preferred OR minimum of three years of semiconductor fabrication experience, including inspection, troubleshooting, defect analysis, or lot disposition.
