Quality Inspector - 12 Hour Rotating Shift

Position Summary

The Quality Technician plays a key role in supporting the Quality Engineering team by helping implement and sustain quality systems, procedures, and best practices. This position is responsible for performing inspections, analyzing root causes, driving corrective actions, and contributing to Continuous Improvement and Kaizen initiatives. The role also supports training efforts, conducts internal audits, and ensures inspection equipment and calibration processes are properly maintained.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of materials and finished products
  • Follow and interpret established quality standards, procedures, and technical documentation
  • Verify that incoming materials and production output meet required specifications
  • Accept or reject products based on inspection findings and communicate results with production teams
  • Recommend improvements to processes to enhance product consistency and quality performance
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection and test data within company databases
  • Train and mentor inspectors and operators on proper quality methods and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining plant-wide 5S standards and participate in audit activities
  • Identify, document, and report potential safety concerns within the facility

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience collecting data and preparing reports
  • Hands-on experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, microscopes, and CMM equipment
  • Strong visual inspection skills with the ability to detect defects
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Basic proficiency with ERP systems and database software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 2–3 years of broader manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, or move items up to 25 pounds
  • Strong visual capabilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral awareness, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Our new Liberty, North Carolina facility is expanding to meet the growing demand for automotive battery components and is expected to create over 150 new jobs in the region.
