The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring conformance with internal quality standards and external accreditation requirements, including ISO 9001, AISC, and ASME. This role conducts inspections, supports audit activities, collaborates with fabrication and production teams, and contributes to maintaining company certifications. As experience and competency increase, the Quality Inspector assumes greater responsibility in leading inspections, mentoring team members, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform routine and advanced inspections of welds, materials, and fabricated assemblies to ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory standards.

Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for accuracy and compliance.

Lead inspections on critical welds and complex fabrication projects to verify adherence to quality requirements.

Utilize inspection tools, measuring devices, and visual testing methods to identify defects, deviations, and non-conformances.

Maintain accurate and organized inspection reports, logs, and quality documentation.

Assist in data collection, documentation control, and preparation for internal, third-party, and certification audits.

Serve as a liaison between QA/QC and fabrication teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues.

Conduct root cause analyses for non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Mentor and support junior inspectors through hands-on training and technical guidance (Level II).

Contribute to the development and enhancement of quality programs, procedures, and process improvements.

Participate in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns to the Quality Manager and production leadership.

Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or related certifications preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection, construction, or welding required.

AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.

Working knowledge of AISC, ASME, and ISO 9001 standards and compliance requirements.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and WPS documentation.

Experience with QA/QC software and Microsoft Excel; intermediate computer skills required (advanced proficiency preferred at Level II).

Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform structured, recurring tasks while adhering to established procedures and quality guidelines.
