Job Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for carrying out site inspections and quality control activities to ensure that construction works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable standards. The role supports both Civil and Oil & Gas field projects by conducting inspections, coordinating with site teams and consultants, maintaining quality documentation, and supporting closure of non-conformances to achieve compliant and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Review & Planning
- Review approved drawings, specifications, and method statements to define inspection and quality requirements.
- Plan and coordinate daily inspection activities with Section Engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
- Ensure inspection readiness prior to execution of works.
Inspection & Testing
- Conduct inspections and testing activities in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for civil, structural, and field construction works, as applicable to the project scope.
- Prepare, submit, and follow up Work Inspection Requests (WIR) and Material Inspection Requests (MIR).
- Participate in joint inspections with consultants, clients, and third party inspectors.
- Coordinate inspection schedules and follow up on snag items and punch lists until closure.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily quality inspection / quality control reports.
- Maintain inspection, testing, and approval records in line with project and contract requirements.
- Ensure quality documentation is accurate, complete, and properly filed for traceability and audits.
Non Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify and report non conforming works or materials in accordance with company quality procedures.
- Assist in raising Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) and tracking corrective actions to closure.
- Support root cause analysis and ensure preventive measures are implemented to avoid recurrence.
Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams on quality related issues.
- Support the Quality Engineer during audits, inspections, and quality training or awareness sessions.
- Assist in handover activities by ensuring inspection and quality records are completed and approved.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architecture
- 4+ years of experience in construction projects (building projects)
- Strong understanding of site inspection and testing procedures
- Experience in reviewing and implementing ITPs and quality documentation
- Familiarity with WIRs, MIRs, NCRs, and inspection reporting
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in site and field environments
