About the Role
E8 Engineering is placing a Quality Inspector 1 with one of our precision manufacturing clients in Ontario, CA. This role supports inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications. The position is responsible for inspecting components, materials, and finished products, identifying quality issues, and supporting documentation and compliance activities within the Quality department.
REQUIRED – Candidates Must Have (Non-Negotiable)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Hands-on experience using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and pin gauges
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of components, materials, and finished products throughout various stages of production.
- Inspect products for visual defects using the unaided eye and/or magnification equipment as required.
- Perform dimensional inspections using contact and non-contact measuring equipment, including vision systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work orders/routers, and work instructions.
- Accurately document and report inspection results.
- Review work orders, routers, certificates, and product labels for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Support incoming inspection activities for supplier materials and components.
- Identify and communicate quality concerns, process inefficiencies, or non-conformances.
- Maintain compliance with applicable quality standards and internal procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Prior quality inspection experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, sketches, and written instructions — REQUIRED.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and pin gauges — REQUIRED.
- Basic understanding of measurement techniques and inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic quality issues using existing processes and procedures.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
