Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to established quality standards. In addition, investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality issues, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects with our suppliers.
- Lead and participate in food safety and quality system and product/process audits. Know and understand the audit process to effectively execute it to the fullest. Review and maintain the supplier and raw material risk matrix, identifying high, medium and low risk suppliers.
- Communicating and scheduling audits with supplier and team members. Pre-audit research and planning.
- Conduct supplier audits. Manage and drive effective analysis by identifying gaps and weaknesses. Implement Corrective Actions Preventative Actions (CAPA) when gaps are identified.
- Ideate, create, and assist in the maintenance of supplier audit process standard work.
- Assist in the development of the annual supplier audit schedules and review of self-assessments completed by suppliers.
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.
- Bachelors’ Degree required.
- 6 years of experience in a quality leadership and/or auditor role is required.
- Strong audit practices and general business processes. Understanding of manufacturing and corporate quality concepts.
Strong proficiency in written and oral communications, with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills needed to recognize patterns in data, information or events and to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations for action.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to direct, organize and conduct work processes related to complex auditing projects as well as professionally engage internal customers with enthusiasm and adaptability.
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Ability to earn and maintain Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification.
- The role requires 75-80% travel-to and from suppliers across the US, combining suppliers audits in trips where it makes sense.
