Value Based Care ACO Quality Reporting Intern

Summary

The ACO Quality Reporting Intern is responsible for providing project support for quality reporting within Accountable Care models. We aim to empower students to take active roles in the healthcare field. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about various value-based care models, Quality performance metrics for Medicare and how they are measured.

Primarily, the intern will assist with completing the CMS ACO Quality Reporting requirements. He or she may also participate in other IntraCare projects as assigned and will be asked to complete assigned tasks, update project completion status, and follow up as necessary. This will provide a great learning opportunity for the intern to gain working knowledge of HIPAA regulations for Business Associates as well as experience working in various Electronic Health Record systems.

The Intern will report to Crystal Limoges, Director of HEDIS and Payer Quality Performance. The Value Based Care Department focuses on quality program maximization, care coordination, and utilization management. The team is committed to supporting IntraCare’ s network of primary care providers to achieve improvements in patient care and financial rewards related to value-based care. The Quality Reporting Intern must have a passion for improving patient care.

This will be a 3 month internship, beginning January 2025 and continuing until March 31, 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

Under supervision, the ACO Quality Reporting Intern may be required to:

· Establish contact with ACO physician practices to help complete CMS ACO Quality Reporting

· Become knowledgeable in interpreting and understanding quality metrics

· Responsible for data abstraction and collection of ACO quality Metrics

· Track and report on project progress weekly

· Perform Quality assurance reviews for submitted data for accuracy and compliance

· Perform additional job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

· Open to highly motivated undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in the Healthcare field

· Attention to detail, high level of integrity, individually responsible and team oriented

· Interest in quality metrics and value-based care models required

· Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills

· Superior emotional intelligence and professional presence

Preferred Qualifications:

· Fresh Graduates with a Degree in Healthcare Management/Administration or Relevant areas are preferred

· Electronic Health Record experience a plus
