Job Purpose

To perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications and contribute to the achievement of the Quality Objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform visual/dimensional inspections for in-process and final inspections as required
• Perform inspection and testing of parts and tooling for compliance with drawings and/or other specifications
• Prepare FAI documentation and complete inspection reports and travelers for all inspections
• Perform incoming receiving inspection by measurement, visual, and/or confirming certification documents from vendors for conformance to requirements
• Prepare quality documentation, Certificates of Conformance, and Material Certs
• Perform calibration of internal measuring equipment per the calibration log
• Scan travelers and other required documents and records
• Communicate and support both Engineering and Production with in-process work
• Review and sign off on special processes (cure cycles)

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education (High School Diploma or GED required). Technical school preferred. Experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
• 5 years of composite manufacturing or INSPECTION experience
• Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality System
• Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be proficient in using calipers, micrometers, and manual and digital gauges
• Must be able to accurately read drawings and interpret specifications
• Utilization of test equipment (Surface Roughness Gage, Hardness Impresser)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team
• Organized, efficient time management
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs without assistance; must be able to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time
• CMM knowledge/experience is a plus

Working Conditions

This position will be performed in an air-conditioned production floor environment. Possible exposure to elevated noise, dust, and fumes may occur. Appropriate PPE will be provided.

Physical Requirements

This position may require employees to:

• Remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period
• Spend extended hours in front of a computer screen
• Lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
