Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor estimates the required quantities of materials and labor for construction projects, tracks costs to ensure projects stay within budget, and provides financial reports and advice on costs and bids.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Quantity Estimation: Calculate and estimate required materials and equipment, and prepare detailed reports.

2. Tendering and Bidding: Assist in preparing bids and analyzing supplier/contractor bids.

3. Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project budget and recommend cost reduction.

4. Financial Reporting: Track expenditures and provide financial progress reports.

5. Invoice Verification: Verify invoices from suppliers and contractors.

6. Collaboration: Work with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure estimates align with specifications.

7. Contract Preparation: Assist in preparing contracts ensuring financial terms align with estimates.

8. Adjustment of Estimates: Update estimates as project changes occur.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

- 3-5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in construction.

- Knowledge of construction standards and proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Quantity Surveying software.

Required Skills:

- Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

Work Environment:

- On-site or office-based; may require travel between project sites.
