Job Summary

As Quantity Surveyor Engineer, you're responsible for estimating Calculate the quantity of materials required. Additionally, this data will be used to provide early cost advice, to budget and benchmark the project, and to prepare life cycle cost plans for infrastructure projects of such as water & sewer systems, telecommunication networks and road construction., You will work with Design & Engineering, PMO, HR and Finance teams to develop cost and man hour estimates and budgets from concept studies, base design through to detailed design scopes

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Able to use Cost Estimate:
• software/programs such as CCS Candy etc....
• Infrastructure works
• Portable & sewer water networks
• Portable & sewer pumping & lifting stations.
• Study drawings and specifications.
• Calculate the quantity of materials required. Additionally, this data will be used to provide early cost advice, to budget and benchmark the project, and to prepare life cycle cost plans.
• Prepare scope of works and detailed bill of quantities to support detailed estimation for all labor, equipment, material, and time requirements as per tender documents.
• Work alongside clients to establish their requirements.
• Undertake feasibility studies to ensure a proposal will work.
• Fresh graduates who are interested in estimating engineering are welcomed.
• Study tender documents including drawings, project specifications, BOQ, scope of work, contract details, and conditions.
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance work.
• Study tender BOQ, quantities take off, sending inquiries to the vendors/ subcontractors to get competitive quotations to calculate the quantity of required materials.
• Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
• Assign work to subcontractors – overseeing their work at all stages.
• Value completed work and arranging payments.
• Ensure projects meet legal and quality standards.
• Continually analyze outcomes and write budget reports.
• Estimate material quantities, costs, labor, and time.
• Prepare tender and contract documents.

Qualifications

Core:

- Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering.

- 7 - 11 years of experience in Engineering, QS, and/or Tendering function with at least 3 years proven track record experience in a similar role ideally within one of the leading EPC or infrastructure Companies.

- Previous experience in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

- In depth technical skills and proven experience with infrastructure design and quantities estimates with pump stations, piping systems and transmission lines, …etc.

- Excellent problem solving, analytical and business intelligence skills.

- Strong commercial / cost estimation experience.

- Multitasking mind set with time management skills

- Professional MS Office package user, advanced MS Excel skills.

- Professional AutoCAD user

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Fluent in English language.

Desirable :

- Previous experience with Water & Waste water projects

- Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment is an asset.

- Familiarity with cross functional organizations.
