Quantity Surveyor (All Trades)

About the Role
Vanguard Vantage is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor (All Trades) to take full commercial responsibility for quantities and costs across our projects. This role covers all disciplines: civil, structural, architectural, and MEP.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical take-off skills with solid commercial judgment, supporting the company from tender stage through project execution and final account.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Contract / Tendering
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents for complete scope coverage.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works.
- Develop and maintain BOQs and cost estimates for projects.
- Coordinate with Procurement to obtain and validate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support the pricing strategy, including breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, overheads, and profit.
- Prepare commercial clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions for tender submissions.
2. Post-Contract / Project Execution
- Monitor and report budget vs actual costs, highlighting variances and risks.
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications to the Client/Consultant.
- Review, evaluate, and certify subcontractors’ payment applications.
- Prepare, justify, and negotiate Variation Orders (VOs) and associated costs.
- Support the Project Manager in claims, EOT commercial inputs, and contractual matters.
- Work closely with site teams to ensure accurate site measurements and cost capture.
3. Final Account & Commercial Close-Out
- Prepare and agree Final Accounts with the Client/Consultant.
- Finalize subcontractor accounts, including variations, contra-charges, and adjustments.
- Maintain complete and organized commercial documentation for audits and management review.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying (or a closely related discipline).
- 5–8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a recognized building or general contracting company.
- Proven experience handling full trades (civil, architectural, and MEP quantities and costs).
- Strong knowledge of contract administration (FIDIC or similar).
- High proficiency in Excel and quantity take-off tools; familiarity with AutoCAD is required; experience with CostX / Candy / PlanSwift is an advantage.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken); strong report-writing skills.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
