Job Description: Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring that costs are controlled, budgets are adhered to, and value for money is achieved while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation.
  • Evaluate tender submissions, prepare tender analysis, and assist in contract award recommendations.
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Assess and manage variations, claims, and contractual changes in accordance with contract conditions.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors on commercial matters.
  • Review and certify subcontractor payments and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and company commercial procedures.
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and financial statements for management review.
  • Identify cost risks and opportunities and provide commercial advice to the project team.
  • Assist in dispute resolution, claims negotiations, and contractual correspondence when required.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction or consultancy (adjustable as required).
  • Experience with pre-contract and post-contract cost management.
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost control techniques.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
