Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for measuring and remeasuring construction works and preparing accurate bills of quantities (BoQ) to support cost planning, tendering, and project control. Duties include taking off quantities from drawings, updating measurements as designs or site conditions change, and ensuring all quantity data is clear and aligned with project requirements, prepare client invoices and progress payments, follow up on submission and approval. The role requires attention to detail, strong measurement skills, and coordination with design and construction teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction, oil & gas, or civil/earthworks projects.
  • Proficient in quantity take-off, remeasurement, preparation of Bills of Quantities and standard measurement methods.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be available in Kuwait with valid transferrable visa

Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure quantities from drawings, specifications, and other design documents to support cost estimation, tendering, and budgeting processes.
  • Develop and update comprehensive BoQs that clearly define scope, quantities, and item descriptions, providing a basis for contractor pricing, procurement, and project control.
  • Reassess and adjust measured quantities during construction to reflect variations, design updates, or actual site conditions, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and cost implications.
  • Work closely with planning, engineers, and site teams to clarify quantity-related issues, verify design changes, and maintain accurate and consistent measurement records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide precise quantity data to assist in interim valuations, progress claims, change order assessments, and final account preparation, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Adhere to industry measurement standards and internal procedures to maintain consistency, accuracy, and transparency in all measurement and documentation tasks.
  • Prepare the progress payment application and consolidate all supporting document for the invoice.
  • Prepare payment status and cashflow.
