Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all quantity surveying and cost management activities for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and budget forecasts for Civil, Structural, and MEP works based on IFC drawings and project specifications.
- Prepare, review, and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost breakdown structures in coordination with project teams.
- Evaluate and verify subcontractor quotations, variations, and claims while ensuring fair commercial practices.
- Manage and track project budgets, expenditures, and cost-to-complete analyses to support financial reporting and decision-making.
- Prepare and review interim payment applications, progress valuations, and final account settlements.
- Administer contracts in accordance with FIDIC and company standards, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Support tendering processes, cost analysis, and bid evaluations for new projects and change orders.
- Coordinate with planning, procurement, and engineering departments to align cost control measures with project timelines.
- Provide professional advice on cost optimization, value engineering, and risk management to enhance project profitability.
- Produce regular cost reports, variance analyses, and financial summaries for management review.
- Maintain well-organized records of all commercial correspondence, variations, and contractual documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior QS staff, promoting professional growth and consistent work quality within the team.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost control, preferably within the GCC construction industry.
- Proven experience handling high-rise, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong technical knowledge of Civil and MEP quantity surveying practices and measurement standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, MS Excel, and related cost management tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of FIDIC and other contractual frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills with strong commercial acumen.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- GCC experience and a valid driving license are mandatory.
