Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, with expertise in managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate general ledger entries. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting compliance with accounting standards, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of our organization through precise bookkeeping and financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using various accounting software QuickBooks
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
  • Record journal entries, including debits and credits, to reflect all financial transactions accurately in the general ledger.
  • Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports that reflect organizational performance.
  • Conduct periodic balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to maintain data integrity.
  • Apply knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to ensure compliance with accounting standards across all financial activities.

Experience

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks,
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience with governmental accounting practices and tax-related procedures is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation accurately.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10-key typing is advantageous.
