Job Title: Rack Builder – Rack Processing
Location: Dayton, OH
Reports To: Production Manager

Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, we specialize in custom metal fabrication and plating rack design for industries including automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing. - We build metal fixtures (racks) that factories use to hold parts during coating and finishing processes.

What sets us apart is our ability to take a concept and move it rapidly through design, prototyping, and full-scale production — all under one roof. Our team works with advanced tools like SolidWorks, CNC forming, and laser cutting systems to create solutions that directly impact manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

We’re especially known for our expertise in plating-on-plastics (POP) rack design, a critical but often overlooked component in modern manufacturing.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Rack Builder to join our Rack Processing team. In this hands-on role, you will utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and engineering drawings to build and certify plating racks used in plastics manufacturing. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build metal racks using tools and simple engineering drawings
  • Use equipment like welders, hand tools, and measuring tools
  • Make sure racks are built correctly and meet quality standards
  • Check your work and fix small issues as needed
  • Keep your work area clean and organized
  • Move materials and manage parts during jobs
  • Help out in other areas when needed (training provided)
  • Follow all safety rules and wear required safety gear

Qualifications

  • Valid government-issued ID and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic experience with hand tools or industrial equipment preferred
  • MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn

Job Details

  • Standing and physical activity for most of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Industrial shop environment (noise, machinery, PPE required)
  • Union position with overtime opportunities
