Job Summary:
The Radiology Doctor is responsible for interpreting medical images to diagnose and support the treatment of various conditions and diseases. This role involves the use of imaging technologies such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and mammograms, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses that support optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, and mammography.
- Provide accurate, detailed, and timely reports based on imaging findings.
- Collaborate with referring physicians and medical staff to discuss imaging results and offer clinical recommendations.
- Perform and/or supervise interventional radiology procedures, where applicable.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records and radiology reports.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during all imaging procedures.
- Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and imaging best practices.
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols and comply with medical and ethical standards.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to patient management discussions.
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior doctors, radiology residents, or radiologic technologists as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Completed residency in Radiology (Diagnostic Radiology or equivalent).
- Board certification or equivalent (e.g., Arab Board, FRCR, American Board, Canadian Fellowship) preferred.
- Valid QCHP license or eligibility for licensing as a Specialist/Consultant Radiologist in Qatar.
- Minimum 3–5 years post-residency experience (or as required by QCHP category).
- Proficiency in major imaging modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Plain Radiography).
- Strong communication, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems and digital imaging workflows.
