Kuwait Airways is activity recruiting for Ramp Services section in the Ground Handling department. In this role your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Basic Function and Scope:
Provides work direction of assigned personnel in the ramp services for the activities of Unit Load Device (ULD) movement (on shift), Charge Note processing and general equipment maintenance for Ramp Services. Includes ensuring the control and inventory of ULD equipment inbound/outbound on KAC aircraft and on other carriers working under ground services contracts, processing and reconciling Charge Note for ground services provided by KAC for other carriers and ensuring the scheduled and breakdown maintenance of ramp mobile equipment (done by the garage unit) and other related duties and activities.
Tasks and Duties:
a. Ensures the preparation, receipt and despatch of ULD equipment including various pallets, containers and related straps, nets and rings on KAC aircraft and on assigned other carrier aircraft. Ensures accurate and complete record keeping of ULD movement by ULD staff working on shift and that all telexes and SITA messages are sent/actioned regarding requests for ULD equipment, lost units, repairs and receipt and confirmation notices.
b. Reviews and assesses the processing of Charge Notes to other carriers for various ground handling eg. passenger, baggage, cargo, ground transport, load control etc., provided by KAC Ramp staff, in accordance with ground handling agreements. Ensures all flights and services are covered on a daily basis, that charges are accurate in accordance with approved terms and conditions, and that other carriers' representatives have signed off all Charge Note amounts/services. Approves notes prior to despatching to Finance, for their billing action.
c. Oversees and directs the activities of the General Equipment Supervisor and ensures regular scheduled maintenance and break down repairs of a wide variety of mobile ground equipment used by Ramp Services, such as forklifts, tugs, transporters, mobile stairs, dollies, jeeps, pick-ups etc. Monitors maintenance services performed by the garage, participates in investigating serious or recurring maintenance problems, serious accidents or breaches of safety rules and regulations and directs other related activities performed by this unit.
d. Liaises with various internal and outside parties to facilitate the section's work such as with representatives of other carriers, CAA officials, KASCO supervisors, outstations and other parties. Initiates a wide variety of telexes and other communications and attends various regular and ad hoc meetings to progress the work.
