Job Purpose:
To ensure the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) compliance of railway and metro systems. The RAMS Engineer will support the project team by conducting system assurance activities including human factor, fire safety etc., risk assessments, and safety analysis in accordance with international standards and project requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
Conduct RAMS studies (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) for metro and railway systems in compliance with EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129 (not limited)standards.
Perform hazard identification and risk assessments (FMEA, FTA, Hazard Log management).
Prepare and review Safety Cases and ensure approvals from relevant authorities.
Ensure all engineering designs and operations comply with international safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with design, system integration, and operations teams to address RAMS requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop RAMS reports and documentation to support project assurance and client submissions.
Monitor contractors’ and suppliers’ compliance with RAMS requirements.
Provide technical input during system integration, testing, and commissioning phases.
Support incident investigations and root cause analysis related to system failures or safety issues.
Human factor, EMC, Noise/ Vibration, Earth etc. should be familiar and cooperate with subsystem to finish some related work.
Monitor and ensure the target of RAM allocation be achieved according the requirement.
Coordinate subsystem to push and complete deliverable on baseline and schedule. All of key milestone should be met on time.
Have ability to anticipate and identify risks of project.
Have good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in RAMS Engineering, with at least 3 years in metro or railway projects (mandatory).
Proven experience with safety and RAMS standards (EN 50126/28/29).
Experience in system assurance, hazard analysis, and safety case preparation.
Strong knowledge of railway signaling, telecom, rolling stock, and system integration.
Familiarity with UAE / international railway safety regulations is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and reporting skills (English essential, Arabic/Chinese is an advantage).
Ability to work effectively with multinational project teams.
Proficient in RAMS tools/software (e.g., reliability block diagrams, fault tree analysis).
Attention to detail and commitment to safety assurance.
Get to know Doors NG and Isograph software.
