Rankings & Data Lead

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical Rankings & Data Lead to own the design, accuracy, and evolution of ranking systems, performance metrics, and data-driven insights. This role is critical to ensuring credibility, transparency, and consistency in rankings while turning raw data into actionable insights for content, broadcasts, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and improve rankings frameworks and methodologies

• Collect, validate, and analyze performance and match data

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and auditability

• Develop metrics and scoring systems for players, teams, and events

• Collaborate with analysts, producers, and editorial teams

• Translate data into clear insights for on-air and written content

• Manage databases, dashboards, and reporting tools

• Monitor anomalies, edge cases, and ranking disputes

• Document methodologies and maintain version control

• Stay updated on esports/sports data trends and best practices

Required Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in data analytics, rankings, or performance analysis

• Strong analytical and statistical reasoning skills

• Experience working with large datasets

• Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets / SQL / Python / BI tools

• Ability to explain complex data in simple, audience-friendly terms

• High attention to detail and data integrity

• Comfortable working under deadlines and public scrutiny

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Esports / Sports analytics

• Background in ranking systems, scoring models, or rating algorithms

• Familiarity with Elo, Glicko, or custom ranking frameworks

• Experience supporting broadcasts or editorial teams

• Knowledge of data visualization and dashboards
