Job Description

We are looking for passionate instructors to teach Ardiuno and/or Circuit Python project-based K-12 students in after-school programs, weekend workshops, and camps. You don't have to be professional on Ardiuno or Circuit Python, but you need at least to be willing to learn and communicate with students. We will have a mentor training for qualified candidates. Some projects would include remote sensors using off-the-shelf products to upload data to a database which can be retrieved via mobile app.

We maintain a low teacher-student ratio (about 1:1 or 1:2) where possible and keep students and instructors together throughout an entire course for a meaningful experience. Instructors will take on a number of basic responsibilities:

  • Lead weekly hardware or electric based projects and conduct classes on the topics and languages involved
  • Guide students to apply coding concepts in problem-solving projects and publish the project

Requirements

  • Computer/Engineering/STEM/Education related majors or relevant experience
  • Experience in Ardiuno or Circuit Python
  • Working with microcontrollers
  • At least one afternoon/evening available per week
  • Enjoy working with kids of all ages
  • Exercise patience and humility
  • A passion for learning and education

Preferred Experience (but not necessary)

  • Familiarity with popular programming languages (Python, Java, C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
  • Raspberry Pi
  • Google Coral
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • AI, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision

Salary and Benefit

  • Salary is $20-$30/hr based on experience level and performance
  • Project bonus based on the project milestones and deliverables
  • Flexible class schedule that can fit your availability
  • Enrich your own resume with the published applications
  • Learn-by-teaching
  • Have a positive impact on the next generation of programmers
  • Improve your communication and ability to breakdown complex topics
