REACH is a free summer-and-Saturday enrichment program for middle-school boys designed to enhance students’ academic and leadership skills. Role Description

The REACH Program Dean of English Language Arts (ELA) is a full-time employee of Regis High School with responsibilities split between REACH and Regis. The Dean serves year-round as a member of the REACH administrative and instructional team, and receives a reduced workload in the Regis High School English Department during the academic year. The Dean serves as an administrator during 20 REACH Saturdays during the school year, grading all REACH ELA student work during this time. The Dean’s class schedule allows for one day off during each week that follows their leadership on a REACH Saturday.

REACH Dean of English Language Arts Responsibilities

  • Teach two REACH ELA classes of middle school students during the REACH summer session and Saturday program.
  • Recruit, hire, and coach a staff of ELA teachers during the REACH summer session and Saturday program.
  • Coordinate the curriculum development, lesson planning, instruction, and grading for all REACH ELA programming.
  • Assist with the general administration and organizational leadership of REACH throughout the year.
  • Assume all other administrative responsibilities as determined by the director of the REACH Program.

These responsibilities require the Dean to be available for the 6-week REACH summer session, which includes a 3-week residential session at Fordham University or the University of Scranton. The second 3-week session of the summer takes place at Regis. These sessions typically run from approximately early July to mid-August.

Regis Faculty Member Responsibilities

  • Teach two Regis High School English classes during the academic year: prepare lessons and deliver rigorous curricula.
  • Moderate at least one extracurricular activity at Regis High School during the academic year.
  • Assume all other faculty responsibilities as determined by the principal of Regis High School.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience as a teacher or administrator in middle or high school.
  • Willingness to support and advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school through all interactions.
  • Commitment to uplifting marginalized communities and a deep belief in the success of all students.

Desired Qualifications

  • Innovative: Experience utilizing diverse resources to develop dynamic lessons, assessments, and activities.
  • Collaborative: Commitment to engage with faculty and parents to support individual student-needs/success.
  • Self-Starter: Proven capacity to work independently toward setting and prioritizing ambitious goals.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, specifically in the forms of planning and public speaking.
  • Spanish language proficiency / Master’s degree in English, Education, or a humanities-related field.
  • A background working with immigrant families and familiarity with the Jesuit tradition of education.
  • Passion to empower students as young men for others, rooted in to our Five Jesuit School Principles: Open to Growth, Intellectually Proficient, Religious, Loving, and Committed to Doing Justice.

Start Date: June 2026

Salary Range: $73,093+ based on experience, in addition to $13,460+ REACH add-on

The REACH program expects one to conduct oneself at all times in a manner which shall not bring reproach upon oneself or REACH.

To Apply: This position is a 12-month, in-person role. During the academic year, the REACH Dean for ELA will work five days per week on a rotating schedule from Monday to Saturday. This position carries with it the standard Regis High School PTO allocations for faculty members, modified to match the unique demands of the REACH program.
