Position Overview

UDMRI, Dehradun invites applications for the position of Reader in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The candidate will be responsible for academic leadership, clinical supervision, surgical training, research activities, and departmental administration in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.

Academic Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and clinical demonstrations to undergraduate students.
• Plan and implement academic schedules and curriculum delivery.
• Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, and viva voce.
• Mentor junior faculty and support academic development within the department.
• Maintain academic documentation and compliance records.

Clinical & Surgical Responsibilities

• Supervise undergraduate clinical postings.
• Perform and guide students in minor oral surgical procedures.
• Manage extractions including impacted teeth cases.
• Handle pre-prosthetic surgeries and management of oral infections and cystic lesions.
• Manage maxillofacial trauma cases as applicable.
• Ensure adherence to sterilization, OT protocols, and infection control measures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical audit documentation.

Administrative & Institutional Duties

• Assist the Head of Department in managing departmental activities.
• Participate in inspections, audits, and institutional compliance processes.
• Contribute to hospital administration and interdisciplinary case discussions.
• Support organization of workshops, CDE programs, and academic events.
• Participate in outreach activities and community dental health programs.

Research & Academic Development

• Engage in research and publication in indexed journals.
• Guide undergraduate research projects if assigned.
• Present scientific papers in conferences and professional forums.
• Promote evidence-based clinical practice within the department.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from a recognized university.

Experience: Minimum 4+ years of post-MDS academic experience as Senior Lecturer or equivalent.

Registration: Valid State Dental Council Registration.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
