Reading & Writing Tutor Position at Sylvan Learning of Mountain View

We are currently looking for part-time Sylvan Instructor who is passionate about teaching. You will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1, 2:1 or 1:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in subjects such as reading, writing. Reading program will focus on reading comprehension and vocabulary study. Writing program focuses on essay writing and mechanics/grammar skills.

Before you apply, please make sure you satisfy following criteria:

1. Be able to commit at least 6 - 12 hours teaching weekly.
2. Be able to teach ONSITE at Sylvan Mountain View.

As a successful teacher you will:

-Teach using Sylvan based programs
-Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
-Reward students for completed assignments
-Evaluate and document student progress
-Communicate student needs to the center director
-Inspire Students
-Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
-Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan

Requirements:
- 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task
- Need to work in person at Mountain View, California.
