Job Description - Ready Mix Concrete Dispatcher

  • Schedules and coordinates timely delivery of concrete from batch plants to construction job sites, serving as the central hub between customers, drivers, and plant personnel. Responsibilities include taking customer orders, optimizing delivery routes, monitoring truck statuses, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Measuring raw material inventories and the ability to order and maintain proper inventory levels sufficient for successful ongoing operation of the batch plant.
  • Supervising and scheduling drivers to deliver material to multiple job sites.
  • Enter and update orders accurately in dispatch software.
  • Adjust schedules in real time to accommodate weather, traffic, or jobsite delays.
  • Assist with end of day reporting.
  • Resolve delivery issues, delays, or conflicts quickly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel to ensure proper mix design and load timing.
  • This person is responsible for hiring, directing, training, disciplining (including suspending, discharging employees for serious rule infractions or poor job performance).
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of automated batch plant operations.
  • While this position is mainly based indoors, there may be times when there is continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, dirt, dust, and oils.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong initiative and personal integrity
  • Class A or B CDL is required – DOT physical – Acceptable Driving Record
  • Knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations
  • Previous Ready Mix Plant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Sysdyne Batch System preferred
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Maintain a culture of safety is a MUST
  • High School education – GED or higher
  • Must be able to handle and work under high pressure and tight schedules
  • Must be able to use problem-solving skills and be able to understand production equipment and read manuals and specifications.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and interpret general business reports, specifications, procedures and manuals.
  • Perform emergency maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary, such as replacing parts.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Must handle stress, high energy and demanding situations.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer and Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs and Google Sheets.
  • Must possess good oral communication and written communication skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 50+ pounds may be required.
  • Periods of standing, walking, pulling, reaching, pushing, and climbing. Climbing of ladders and conveyor belts for maintenance.
  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/customers.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
