Job Summary
Performs complex (journey-level) administrative support and technical program assistance as a member of the Administrative Services Division of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Coordinates the life cycle of agency property from receipt of items, through inventory, and final disposition and/or surplus of agency property. Also responsible for managing keys for the de Zavala Building, to include issuing to new employees, processing return from terminating employees, and conducting an annual inventory. Serves as primary back up for Support Services Technician. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Tasks
Processes receipt of deliveries and shipments of supplies, equipment, and other items
Maintains agency’s inventory and asset records in CAPPS and SPA systems
Coordinates process to dispose of and/or surplus agency assets
Maintains distribution and control over building keys
Conducts annual audit of agency’s property/assets, keys, and card key badges
Serves as back up for quick copy, mail and courier services
Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies
Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct

Qualifications


Veterans, Reservist or Guardsmen with an MOS or additional duties that fall in the fields Army - 92A - Automated Logistical Specialist; Navy -SN Seaman; Coast Guard - 360 Yeoman; Marine - 0111 Administrative Specialist; Air Force - 3A1X1 - Administration or other related fields pertaining to the minimum experience requirements may meet the minimum qualifications for this position and are highly encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or GED
Two years performing office clerical or administrative support work
Two years' experience using a personal computer
Experience completing periodic activity or status reports

Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience using SPA and CAPPS asset management
Experience performing inventory of supplies or equipment

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to move boxes and packages weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to maintain effective working relationships and have a customer-service focus
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet deadlines
Must use safety equipment, as required, to minimize exposure to hazards

Environmental/Physical Conditions
Normal office work environment. May have exposure to dust and environmental allergens consistent with normal business activities and human contact. Moderately sedentary in nature but does involve moving; standing; remaining stationary for long periods of time; pulling and pushing; kneeling, stooping and bending; and safely moving items weighing up to 40 pounds. Work involves extensive computer usage and repetitive motions while operating the computer. Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. Position has frequent contact with external customers which requires a professional demeanor.

Visual acuity and manual dexterity required
Valid Texas Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Driving record check required of successful candidate

Occasional overtime work required.
