(Part-Time)

The Role: The Heart of the Office
The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) is more than a government agency; we are the "Sherpas" of Utah’s economic landscape. We are looking for a warm, professional, and proactive Receptionist to be the face of our mission.

As the first point of contact for our partners, stakeholders, and visitors, you don't just answer phones—you set the tone for the entire visitor experience. You are the conductor of our daily office rhythm, ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed, informed, and valued.

POSITION DETAILS & COMMITMENT

Salary – $20.00 - $25.00/hr
Work Format – Part-time (Wednesday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). This is an essential, in-office presence at our headquarters (60 E South Temple Suite 300, Salt Lake City, UT 84111). *This position is not eligible for remote work*
Schedule Code – AC - Employees in Offices of Elected Officials
Background Check Required – You must successfully pass a criminal history check

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Hospitality & First Impressions


  • Host the Experience:
    Manage the reception area with warmth and poise, acting as the initial guide for visitors and sub-tenant guests.
  • Ambassador of Space: Curate a "World-Class" environment by ensuring the front lobby, conference rooms, and break rooms remain clean, organized, and inviting.
  • The Connector: Professionally manage incoming calls and inquiries, ensuring stakeholders are seamlessly connected to the right experts on our team.

Operational Coordination

  • Logistics & Maintenance Lead: Oversee the GOEO fleet database, vehicle assignments, and maintenance, ensuring our team is mobile and ready to serve the state.
  • Information Flow: Act as the hub for all incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ensuring the timely distribution of critical communications.
  • Ecosystem Mastery: Proactively learn the roles, expertise, and daily workflows of GOEO staff. You will act as the office's "internal navigator," understanding exactly who handles which initiatives so you can direct visitors and inquiries with precision and speed.


Facility & Team Support


  • Security & Safety:
    Maintain a secure and professional environment by consistently following established safety protocols.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and manage office supply inventory to ensure our team has the tools they need to succeed.
  • Building Liaison: Coordinate with building management to address facility needs, ensuring our physical space reflects our high professional standards.
  • Executive Support: Interactive with the Administrative team to manage master calendars, schedule strategic meetings and logistics, and provide administrative "connective tissue" to team members on special projects.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE


  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong competency in time management, with proven multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with applications such as Google Workspace, Canva and Adobe.
  • A customer service-oriented mindset.
  • The ability to quickly and appropriately resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in computer database management and typing.
  • A disciplined self-manager who takes initiative and sees tasks through to completion
