PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide hospital wide communication services and administrative or clerical support to Administration and the Executive Office. Acts as an information source for patients, public, staff, and vendors.
Qualifications

High school graduate or G.E.D.

Word processing experience required.

Must have excellent telephone manners and good communication skills.

Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously under pressure.

Must be able to interact with the public appropriately when placed in stressful situations.

Must be able to receive and follow instruction.

Must be able to accomplish tasks accurately and efficiently in a timely manner.

Must have good customer service skills.

Prefer previous telephone switchboard experience.

Must be able to maintain good working relationships and communication with others.

Must be able to understand and maintain confidentiality.

Must have excellent organizational skills.
Essential Functions
-
Answers all incoming telephone calls quickly, politely, and directs them to the proper staff/department.

Receives and relays messages for hospital personnel and staff.

May be asked to make announcements, page staff, or implement emergency medical and fire procedures as needed over the intercom system,
-
Provides exceptional customer service to all visitors, patients, and co-workers.

Distributes mail received from the post office and other departments to the appropriate staff/department.
