Receptionist (Hospital) – Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction
  • Greet patients, visitors, and attendants in a polite and professional manner.
  • Assist patients with registration and documentation processes.
  • Provide information about hospital services, departments, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and follow up on patient visits.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Maintain patient records and update files regularly.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and other communication channels.
  • Ensure proper filing, data entry, and retrieval of information.
  • Manage billing inquiries and help with insurance documentation as needed.
  • Coordination
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient care.
  • Communicate important information to the relevant departments.
  • Arrange patient referrals, lab tests, or specialist consultations.
  • Customer Service
  • Address patient concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
  • Ensure a calm and supportive environment for patients and their families.
  • Provide assistance in emergency situations by directing patients and guiding them appropriately.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality
  • Ensure patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and health regulations.
  • General Support
  • Monitor waiting areas to ensure they are clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Handle minor administrative tasks like ordering supplies or managing schedules.
  • Support other staff during peak hours or as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
