General Description:

The purpose of this class within the organization is to manage recreation programming and facilities in the City of Rock Hill. This class works under direct supervision according to set procedures.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires high school graduation or GED equivalent, or specialized vocational training. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.


Special Certifications and Licenses:

Valid Driver’s License


Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to assist with custodial duties, program/athletic field preparations, and minor maintenance needs.
  • Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrated appropriate customer service skills.
  • Work is performed on site the incumbent must be present at work to perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with programs, clinics and special events at Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism facilities.
  • Assists staff and volunteers related to programs and special events.
  • Provides assistance and support to concessions, admissions, weekend call schedules and special events.
  • Assists with programming, partnerships, special-events and community outreach opportunities.
  • Assist in hosting regional, national and international events.
  • Assists and/or is responsible for the opening and closing of facilities in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Assists with security, maintenance, trash pick up, and any facility issues.
  • Assists with and/or compiles daily, weekly, monthly and annual membership, usage and financial reports.
  • Provides staff support to projects as assigned.
  • Participates in cross training opportunities.
  • Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
