Scheduled 40 hours weekly, 9:00am-5:30pm Monday through Friday.
JOB SUMMARY
The Recruiter is responsible for full‑cycle recruitment for janitorial and building maintenance positions, including cleaners, leads, supervisors, and other frontline roles. This position focuses on high‑volume hiring, applicant screening, onboarding coordination, and compliance with employment and company policies. The Recruiter partners closely with operations and HR to ensure staffing needs are met in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and frontline positions (e.g., cleaners, leads, supervisors), including posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer coordination.
- Communicate effectively with applicants and hiring leaders throughout the recruiting process (phone, email, text, virtual, and/or in person).
- Coordinate and complete pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including background checks, employment eligibility verification, and new-hire paperwork.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential recruiting records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and/or HRIS, consistent with company policy and applicable law.
- Prioritize and manage multiple requisitions and deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment to meet staffing goals.
- Use standard business technology (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, ATS platforms) to document recruiting activity, track progress, and generate routine reports.
- Partner with operations leaders to understand staffing needs, job requirements, scheduling demands, and site-specific hiring expectations.
- Represent the company professionally at hiring events (as applicable) and support ongoing candidate pipeline development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Post open positions to appropriate channels (job boards, company website, community resources, referral sources).
- Screen applications and conduct phone/virtual/in-person interviews; assess job-related qualifications and availability.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring leaders and support selection decisions.
- Initiate and track pre-employment steps (background checks, employment eligibility verification, onboarding forms) and communicate next steps to candidates.
- Maintain accurate applicant dispositions and documentation in the ATS/HRIS; ensure record retention and confidentiality.
- Monitor recruiting progress and provide updates to operations leaders; proactively address urgent staffing needs.
- Develop and maintain candidate pipelines; participate in job fairs and community hiring events as needed.
- Support onboarding coordination and a positive new-hire experience to improve early retention.
- Track basic recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, applicant flow, source effectiveness) and identify opportunities to improve.
- Perform other related duties as assigned consistent with business needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Full-cycle recruiting knowledge and skill sufficient to source, screen, interview, and support selection decisions for hourly/frontline roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide clear, timely information to candidates and hiring leaders and to document recruiting outcomes professionally.
- Interviewing and candidate assessment ability, including evaluating work history, availability, reliability, and job-related qualifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook (communication/scheduling), Word (letters/forms), and Excel (tracking and basic reporting).
- Ability to use an ATS/HRIS (or learn quickly) to manage applicant flow, disposition candidates appropriately, and maintain recruiting records.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, requisition tracking, and pre-employment steps.
- Time-management and prioritization ability to manage multiple requisitions, deadlines, and hiring needs simultaneously while meeting staffing goals.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality, professionalism, and compliance.
- Knowledge of confidentiality requirements and the ability to handle sensitive applicant/employee information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Working knowledge of basic hiring compliance practices (e.g., consistent screening, documentation, background check process, I-9 requirements), or the ability to learn and apply required procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally authorized to work within the United States.
- Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, or a related role.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both languages.
- Experience recruiting for hourly, frontline, or high-volume positions.
- Strong communication skills and customer-service mindset when working with candidates and hiring leaders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive applicant and employee information.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred
- Experience recruiting in janitorial, facilities, hospitality, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and/or HRIS platforms.
- Knowledge of basic employment laws and hiring compliance requirements (e.g., EEO, I-9, background checks).
- Experience participating in job fairs, community-based recruiting, or workforce partnerships.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work is performed in an office environment and at hiring events and/or job sites as needed.
- Frequent use of computers, phone, and other standard office equipment.
- May require local travel to job sites and hiring events.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods and to move about office and event spaces as required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
