Position Overview
We are seeking a Talent & Training Manager to take full ownership of:
- Recruiting top-quality movers and drivers
- Screening and selecting the right candidates
- Training new hires to meet our standards
- Improving team performance and retention
This is NOT a basic recruiting role—this is a performance-driven position responsible for building a strong, reliable team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruiting & Pipeline Management
- Post and manage job listings across platforms (Indeed, Facebook, etc.)
- Actively source candidates (referrals, gyms, labor networks, etc.)
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified applicants
- Ensure we are never short-staffed
2. Screening & Hiring
- Conduct phone interviews and in-person interviews
- Identify high-quality candidates (reliability, attitude, work ethic)
- Eliminate low-quality applicants quickly
- Make hiring recommendations and decisions
3. Training & Onboarding
- Run new hire onboarding process
- Train movers on:
- Proper wrapping & protection
- Efficiency and speed
- Customer service expectations
- Ensure all new hires meet company standards within first 1–2 weeks
4. Performance Tracking & Accountability
- Track new hire performance (first 30 days)
- Work with Operations Manager to:
- Identify top performers
- Address underperformance
- Recommend promotions, discipline, or termination
5. Culture & Retention
- Help build a strong, team-oriented culture
- Improve employee retention through better hiring and training
- Maintain high standards and accountability across the team
What We’re Looking For
MUST HAVE:
- Strong people judgment (can quickly tell who will/won’t work out)
- High standards and attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership and make decisions
- Strong communication and leadership skills
PREFERRED:
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, or staffing
- Experience in labor, construction, or moving industry
- Experience training or managing teams
Compensation
- Base Pay: $600 – $900 per week (based on experience)
- Performance Bonuses:
- $100 per successful hire (after 30 days)
- Additional bonuses for team performance & retention
