Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety & Recruitment Specialist to join our team. This is a dual-position in that part of the time you will be recruiting truck drivers and part of the time you will be ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance and driver safety.
This is a great position for someone who has retired from the trucking industry!
Duties
- Monitor transportation activities including HOS records for accuracy and to ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver qualification files.
- Monitor driver performance via Samsara reports.
- Provide counseling, coaching and feedback as needed to drivers.
- Provide monthly reports containing appropriate safety metrics.
- Provide monthly scorecards.
- Develop materials and conduct training for drivers.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend necessary changes or enhancements.
- Collaborate with management to investigate accidents or incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Assure DOT drug/alcohol program is complaint.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to Federal DOT policies.
- Develop & implement recruitment strategies to meet company hiring goals.
- Post & advertise job openings on career pages, job boards & social networks.
- Create & maintain relationship with local driving schools, trucking associations, etc. to help identify potential driver candidates.
- Sourcing candidates via areas such as colleges, employment agencies, internet sites, job fairs & professional networks.
- Pre-screen candidates; both active & passive.
- Arrange & conduct interviews.
- Verify references including background screening, MVR & Clearing House.
- Conduct presentations & orientations
- Experience Trucking/DOT experience helpful but not necessary.
- Proven experience in safety and compliance within the transportation, logistics, or trucking industry helpful but not necessary.
- H.R. experience helpful but not necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
