Refinery Operation Shift Manager

Scope:

lead safe and efficient refinery operations during assigned shifts. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, safety compliance, and production continuity across all processing units and utilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and control all refinery operations during the assigned shift.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSSE requirements, process safety, and operating procedures.
• Monitor plant conditions, production rates, unit upsets, and emergency situations.
• Coordinate shift activities across Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Utilities.
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and immediate corrective actions.
• Execute operational plans, startup/shutdown activities, and safe work practices.
• Manage shift teams, ensuring clear communication and effective handovers.
• Report operational status, deviations, and performance KPIs to management.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of refinery operations experience, with exposure to multiple process units.
• Proven experience as a Shift Manager / Shift Superintendent / Senior Console role.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and emergency response.
• Excellent leadership, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a high‑risk operating environment.
