Refractory Mason
5-10th Standard with 5-10 years of experience as refractory mason in steel plant.
Refractory mason is responsible for the refractory repair in 150 tons DC-EAF, steel ladles and tundishes as per shift in charge instruction. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness and follow to comply with all company safety rules, procedure and regulations.
Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:
- Refractory installation and repair jobs in DC-EAF, Ladle & Tundish area.
- Shutdown jobs in EAF (dismantling, relining, dryhearth installation and ramming in bottom and banks). Job is in hot environment and dusty atmosphere.
- Ladle de-bricking and relining related jobs like refractory brick installation, block fixing, ramming and top locking etc.
- Tundish spraying and various tundish preparation related activities.
- Reports to refractory shift in charge.
- To perform refractory related other jobs in all areas like EAF, LF, CCM and associated units in Steel Melt Shop.
- Get feedback from Shift reliever and able to work under minimum supervision.
- To understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.
- To follow safety instructions related to their jobs.
- To report damaged PPE, unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.
- To keep the provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.
- To avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.
- To report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to concerned responsible.
- To attend safety trainings planned for them.
- Having a right to say "NO" to any unsafe work.
