About the Role
As a Refrigeration Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facility. Your primary focus will be the maintenance, monitoring, and repair of our industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
Our Expectations
- Conduct preventive maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems, addressing any issues and performing necessary repairs.
- Keep a close watch on the refrigeration system's performance daily, meticulously recording all relevant data.
- Perform routine visual checks of freezers, coolers, evaporators, fans, looking for ice buildup and ensuring proper drainage.
- Fine-tune compressor pressures and temperatures to maintain optimal system efficiency.
- Keep a watchful eye on ammonia levels within accumulators and high-pressure vessels.
- Adhere strictly to lockout/tagout procedures and all established safety protocols, contributing to a safe work environment.
- Undertake additional related tasks as required to support overall operations.
What You'll Need
- Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possess a valid Ammonia Refrigeration Certification.
- Have at least 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Demonstrated welding experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and utilizing hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
- Willingness to work in diverse environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, humid, and elevated areas.
- Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours as dictated by production needs.
- Ability to successfully complete all required safety and food compliance training programs (SQF, GMP, HACCP, SOPs, Food Defense).
Bonus Points
- Prior refrigeration or maintenance experience within a USDA-inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
- A consistent and stable work history over the previous 12 months.
