Position Description

BBB Pathways is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Global History Instructor to teach our Regents Test Prep course for high school students. The instructor will prepare students for the NYS Global History and Geography Regents exam by developing their historical thinking skills, geographic literacy, and ability to construct evidence-based arguments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the NYS Global History and Geography II Regents curriculum.
• Focus on key thematic topics including human rights, economics, political systems, industrialization, conflict, and globalization.
• Build students’ document analysis and Enduring Issues Essay skills.
• Administer and review practice Regents exams to monitor and improve student performance.
• Develop review guides, timelines, and primary source analysis practice materials.
• Use formative assessments to identify knowledge gaps and adjust instruction.
• Provide academic support and encouragement to all students.
• Maintain accurate records and submit required program reports.
• Foster a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching Global History or preparing students for the NYS Global History Regents.
• Strong content knowledge of world history, geography, and the Regents exam format.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
• Excellent communication and lesson facilitation skills.
• Ability to make complex historical concepts accessible to high school students.

Preferred

• NYS Teaching Certification in Social Studies (or equivalent).
• Experience with document-based question (DBQ) instruction and essay coaching.
• Background in culturally responsive pedagogy.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
