The Regional Director of Facilities provides hands-on support for all aspects of plant services operations in each Benchmark community. You will organize, assist, and oversee all facilities related activities and associates to achieve a safe, secure environment along with meeting profit, and growth objectives.This role will support community locations in CT, NY, NJ, and 1 location in VA and will be required to travel approximately 80% of the time. Position is eligible for a monthly car allowance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for managing the capital expense budget as well as implementation and tracking
  • Develops, implements, and monitors life safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance to regulations
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Facilities to develop and implement a detailed, long term plan to improve the overall facilities management of all Benchmark communities paying special attention to: expense control, preventative maintenance, fire safety, improvement of resident and associate safety, improvement in the compliance of all appropriate regulations, development of reasonable standards where appropriate, improve associate development and training for optimized performance
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Facilities to lead the organization in the event of a natural disasters or community emergency response
  • Provides facilities support on a wide range of issues relating to site and utilities including, but not limited to building envelope, machinery and equipment, environmental issues, building code and regulatory issues, and life safety issues
  • Responsible for supporting all communities in regards to the cap ex process and any situation in which the Executive Directors and/or Plant Operations Directors need additional expertise
  • Manages Special Projects that the individual properties need assistance to plan and implement, including, but not limited to larger scale construction renovations, phone and e-call/security system upgrades, major lighting upgrades, roof replacement, FF&E upgrades, common area carpet replacement, rot and mildew repairs/remediation and bulk purchases.
  • Develops short and long-term goals in alignment with the corporate business plan, with specific focus on capital expense
  • Manages all major corporate related facilities related issues such as HVAC roof top repairs, electrical upgrades, furniture purchases, door repairs, renovations, and major cleaning projects
  • Assists in defining hiring guidelines and selection process for Plant Service Directors at all communities
  • Conduct skills evaluations of all Plant Operations Directors
  • Provides overall management of one field-based direct report.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Engineering, Facilities Management, and/or similar field preferred, but not required
  • 7+ years of experience
