Description of Work
The Construction Technician (Maintenance/Construction Technician I) is an entry‑level role designed for individuals who are eager to begin a career in the maintenance and construction trades. About the Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM)
The Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) coordinates all North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) construction and renovation efforts, working closely with the State Construction Office to bring projects to life. We represent the department on key property and building matters while keeping facilities running smoothly through expert support for mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and other essential systems. With a dedicated team specializing in design, project management, and sustainability, DECM helps ensure our facilities stay safe, efficient, and ready to serve.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will be assigned a State-owned vehicle for commuting to and from the assigned project location. The work schedule is Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM but occasionally could require work hours on Fridays and weekends. Overnight travel is normally required to meet the demands of the organization.
