Job Introduction

The Procurement Manager will lead and manage sourcing and procurement activities to support both regional and global business objectives. This role is responsible for executing global sourcing strategies, driving cost optimization, ensuring supplier performance, and supporting new product development initiatives. The position requires close collaboration with global procurement, engineering, supply chain, and operations teams.

In this role you will be based at our Gebze plant in Kocaeli (Turkiye) which is our primary location for our Murat Ticaret business which was acquired by Volex in 2023. Murat Ticaret is a leading producer of wiring harnesses and battery cables designed for off-highway and specialist vehicles. Murat Ticaret currently employees around 4000 people across its multiple manufacturing locations in Turkiye.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the regional sourcing function in alignment with departmental and corporate objectives.
  • Communicate and execute global sourcing strategies, ensuring adoption of global procurement procedures and continuous improvement in cost, quality, and service.
  • Manage supplier selection and development, ensuring compliance with sustainability, ethical purchasing standards, total cost ownership, and supplier capabilities.
  • Guide the sourcing team in cost analysis, RFQ execution, and negotiation to achieve optimal pricing and commercial terms within defined timelines.
  • Identify, initiate, and manage cost-saving initiatives and alternative sourcing projects, including annual VABA and PPV targets, ensuring savings are achieved against budget.
  • Track key commodity prices (e.g. PVC, copper) to support price negotiations and ensure commodity movements are reflected in purchase prices.
  • Lead and participate in supplier negotiations related to pricing, contracts, VMI, and lead times.
  • Actively participate in major New Product Development (NPD) projects in collaboration with Engineering and technical sourcing teams, ensuring procurement deliverables are met on time.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships across the organization.
  • Prepare and present monthly sourcing reports for the region, including performance analysis and continuous improvement actions.
  • Drive vendor base consolidation and supplier rationalization initiatives.
  • Plan and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), evaluate supplier performance using established scorecards, and provide structured feedback for improvement.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by the Global Procurement Director.
  • Ensure training, development, and performance management of direct reports, while maintaining data accuracy, SOP compliance, and implementation of new procurement procedures.


Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years of Supply Chain Management experience, preferably in wiring harness assembly or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
  • Proven experience working with international and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
  • Experience with international trade terms (Incoterms) and payment conditions.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Solid knowledge of cables, connectors, plastic and metal components, and product development processes.
