Regional Project Metallurgist

Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.

All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana's Golden Triangle. About This Role

To lead and manage metallurgical projects and owner commissioning processes by planning, executing, and overseeing all commissioning activities, while ensuring compliance with design requirements, project specifications, and operational standards. The role also provides overall management and technical oversight of the Metallurgical Laboratories at Asante Mines.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance and actively promote Safety Culture and Hazard Awareness on the Mine.
• Support establishment and operation of the Metallurgical Laboratories at both mines to the standard capable of managing all in-house Metallurgical test works and investigations.
• Ensure the contract laboratory at Bibiani is resourced and operated to analyze all Plant samples from both mines.
• Communicate recovery improvement strategies with the Process Managers and assist in achieving the targeted recovery at both mines.
• Conduct Geometallurgical test work for both mines to support Process Plant improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team.
• Support Metallurgical Projects initiated by the Technical Services Team and ensure quality controls are implemented to achieve results.
• Coordinate external Metallurgical test work and ensure the reports are utilized to improve plant performance.
• Conduct periodic review of metallurgical test work practices and procedures to ensure they reflect current goals, operating requirements, and industry's best in class.
• Ensure consistent achievement of metallurgical test work best practices through the training and development of lab technicians.
• Coordinate contractor support required for Metallurgical test work at Asante operations and exploration sites including work scope, negotiations, contract development and implementation
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor or authorized delegate.

Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Applied Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in Process Operations, in a role as Process Manager or Metallurgical Manager and have overseen commissioning
• Process Manager's certificate of competency from the Minerals Commission.
• Possess a valid Ghanaian driving license with defensive driving skills.
• Proven knowledge and understanding of Mining Regulations and relevant applicable legislations
• Demonstrated positive safety behavior and leadership.
