Key Responsibilities
Residential Treatment - Oversight of all aspects of BH care on residential units, from referral, through discharge.
Oversight of behavioral health services within residential treatment units such as level of care assessment, individual and group intervention, multidisciplinary team coordination, psychological testing when needed, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
Provision of crisis intervention services when requested by institutional staff, medical staff, or by inmate self-referral.
Crisis intervention can include consultation with institutional staff regarding management concerns, appropriate housing, referral and/or follow up.
Development of safety/risk management plans.
Crisis intervention activities may require on-call services.
Facilitate hospital transfers when clinically indicated.
Responsible for the development and updating of residential unit operations manuals in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, and local and national standards.
Ensure documentation of clinical encounters and significant behavioral health information in the Medical Record is in accordance with the policies and procedures of YesCare and the policies and regulations of the Department of Correction.
Provide training to staff on all relevant aspects of residential BH care (clinical documentation, assessment, treatment planning, etc.).
Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination (e.g., Provision of assistance to Psychiatrist and nursing staff in monitoring of patients receiving psychotropic medications).
Lead and participate in staff meetings and in-service training programs as offered by behavioral health departments, YesCare, and the Department of Correction.
Provides clinical supervision to behavioral health staff as assigned.
Responsible to inform the Regional Vice President of Mental Health of overall clinical operations at the residential treatment units or overall problems in delivery of clinical services.
Responsible to maintain confidentiality of inmate information in accordance with Department of Correction policy.
Responsible to interrelate, work, and coordinate effectively with other behavioral health staff, YesCare administrative and medical personnel, Department of Correction staff, inmates and outside support agencies.
Compliance with employee standards of YesCare and applicable employee standards of the Department of Correction.
Compliance includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of a working environment and personal appearance consistent with professional responsibilities, development of harmonious working relationships and timely notification of supervisory personnel of absences from institution.
Other services relating to the functioning of the residential treatment unit as assigned.
Statewide - Case consultation for patients statewide.Provision of crisis intervention services when requested by institutional staff, medical staff, or by inmate self-referral.

Consultation of crisis cell placement and treatment planning.
Development of safety risk management plans.

Facilitate referrals to residential treatment units when clinically indicated.
Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination (e.g., Provision of assistance to Psychiatrist and nursing staff in monitoring of patients receiving psychotropic medications).

Key Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Psychology or related field is required.
Holds a current license as a Psychologist in the State of employment.
Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
Ability to travel throughout the state.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
