We are an employment agency currently seeking a Regional Sales (Assistant) Manager for a leading Japanese food manufacturing company.

This position plays a key role in driving sales and profit growth through strategic collaboration with brokers and distributors across global markets. You will plan and implement sales promotions, manage relationships with key partners, and contribute to expanding the company’s market presence.
The company is a globally recognized Japanese brand known for its stability and continued growth.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional business trips to Torrance, CA.

— Head Office: Torrance, CA (Business trips approximately 4 times per year)
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate sales and profit goals.
  • Prepare annual budgets and conduct quarterly and monthly sales reviews.
  • Provide pricing quotes, proposals, and credit terms to existing and potential clients.
  • Oversee and evaluate the activities and performance of field sales representatives.
  • Identify new business opportunities by researching potential customers and markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, distributors, and retailers.
  • Attend and represent the company at trade and consumer shows.
  • Plan and execute sales promotions at national and regional levels, as well as customized programs for specific retail chains.
  • Manage sales territories, quotas, and goals; coordinate overall sales distribution strategy.
  • Conduct sales data analysis to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for brokers, distributors, and clients.
  • Handle client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain retailer contact reports and correspondence logs.
  • Support private brand negotiations and product planning.
  • Evaluate broker performance and manage contract communications.
  • Visit Torrance, CA office as needed for internal meetings or special projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Seek continuous improvement in efficiency and work processes.
  • Handle special projects or other duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintain ethical standards, clear communication, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist and host visiting guests from partner companies when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or technical school, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2–3+ years of relevant sales or business development experience.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising field sales representatives.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
