The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-driven Sales Director to lead sales growth across an assigned Canadian region. This role is responsible for selling products, services, and solutions to new and existing customers, either directly or through channel partners. The Sales Director will own customer relationships, regional sales targets, strategic account plans, partner development, and long-term growth opportunities.
This position is ideal for a technical sales leader with experience in aviation, airport operations, airfield lighting systems, and complex solution-based sales.
You will make an impact by:
- Developing and implementing strategic account plans that exceed expectations for revenue, retention, growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Recommending product improvements or solutions to customers that reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, or support regulatory and operational requirements.
- Identifying, developing, and managing channel partners to achieve regional and channel sales goals.
- Building a strong understanding of customer organizations, decision-making structures, procurement processes, and key buying influences.
- Delivering client presentations that clearly articulate the value proposition of products, services, and solutions.
- Arranging and supporting product demonstrations, technical discussions, and customer evaluations.
- Providing management with recommendations to improve sales volume, market share, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to develop, present, and respond to proposals, including RFIs, RFPs, and industry-specific solutions.
- Providing customer and market information to support the development of customized products and solutions.
- Researching and identifying prospective customers, communicating product advantages, availability, pricing, and service capabilities.
- Staying informed on industry trends, competitor activity, emerging technologies, legacy systems, and new product developments.
- Attending trade shows, conferences, seminars, and industry events to promote products and remain current on market developments.
- Coordinating customer RFI/RFP responses, quotes, pricing contracts, and commercial negotiations.
Tracking opportunities, customer activity, wins/losses, and forecast commitments through the company CRM.
The talent we want to inspire has...
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 5–8 years of successful experience in technical sales, solution sales, or business development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience selling technical products, systems, or services to airports, aviation authorities, contractors, consultants, or infrastructure customers.
- Knowledge of Airfield Ground Lighting technologies and related airport infrastructure solutions.
- General knowledge of airport flight operations and airfield lighting systems.
Knowledge of Transport Canada TP 312 – Aerodrome Standards and Recommended Practices, including its application to airfield lighting, visual aids, and airport operational requirements.
