Job Description
The Sales Manager - Piping (Africa/Iraq Region) is responsible for driving business growth, managing key client relationships, and developing new opportunities in the industrial piping segment across designated territories. The role involves identifying and developing distributors, EPC contractors, and end users in the oil & gas, water, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets in the assigned region.
- Identify new business opportunities with EPCs, end users, and distributors in the piping sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and channel partners.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals in coordination with the internal teams.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to close deals effectively.
- Coordinate with logistics, finance, and technical departments to ensure smooth order execution.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events in the Africa and Iraq markets.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, export regulations, and local laws in target markets.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in sales of piping systems, valves, fittings, or industrial products (preferably in oil & gas or water sectors).
- Proven experience managing sales in African and/or Middle Eastern markets, particularly Iraq.
- Strong understanding of EPC project sales cycles, tendering, and project management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel extensively across assigned territories.
Preferred Skills
- Existing network with EPCs, oil companies, and distributors in Africa and Iraq.
- Technical understanding of piping materials (CS, SS, HDPE, GRE, etc.) and standards (ASME, ASTM, API).
- Multilingual ability (Arabic or French preferred).
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and culturally adaptable.
