Regional Sales Manager (North)

India

Role

  • Oversee sales operations in a defined geographic region.
  • Manage and mentor a team of sales executives / area managers.
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets for the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop regional sales plans and strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Forecast and track sales performance, report on metrics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and distributors.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments, follow ups.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, product and logistics) for smooth operations.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and motivate sales staff in region.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Business, Engineering, etc.).
  • Proven experience as a RSM or in a similar role within the FMCG industry.
  • 0 to5 years of sales experience, including team management.
  • Experience in handling region / large territory.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Preferred

  • Experience in the specific product category or industry.
  • Good knowledge of market dynamics in that region.
