Registered Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials following strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate documentation of treatment plans, medical histories, vital signs, and medical coding.
  • Perform chairside assisting duties by taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients using clear dental terminology, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance details, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
  • Uphold high standards of infection control and aseptic technique to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff at all times.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices tailored to pediatric or general dentistry needs to promote ongoing dental wellness.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix or Epic for managing medical records efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures and 3D scanner operation is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with special needs patients is a plus.
  • Ability to perform medical documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards.
  • Demonstrated competence in chairside assisting tasks such as taking vital signs, providing patient education, and supporting complex procedures across multiple specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
