Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and clinical procedures. As an RDA, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dental services, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your proficiency with dental technology and electronic health records will contribute to efficient practice operations and outstanding patient experiences.
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and image quality for diagnosis.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and workflow.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed, ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant with current certification in CPR and X-ray licensing.
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures.
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for medical documentation and records management.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices relevant to dental procedures.
- Experience with advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within a team environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with understanding of medical documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance.
