Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth chairside assistance.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-operative care, and treatment procedures using clear dental terminology.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and maintaining organized medical documentation.
- Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and digital imaging equipment to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas meet OSHA standards for safety and cleanliness.
- Assist with medical coding for insurance claims and billing processes related to dental procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting in pediatric dentistry preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific tools and techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records efficiently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
- Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a dental setting.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices.
